Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, providing quality blood sample collection and specimen preparation for lab testing. The role involves direct patient contact, establishing trust, and explaining procedures skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and confidentiality, working in various settings such as doctor's offices or patient service centers based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
  2. Maintain a safe, professional environment.
  3. Collect forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and label specimens correctly in the presence of the patient.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to produce error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  5. Adherence to policies, safety, and dress code.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  9. Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
Training and Education:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  3. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.
Work Experience:
  1. Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  2. Preferably two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  3. Customer service experience preferred.
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience required.
