The Health Alliance in Southport, NC is seeking a motivated phlebotomist to join our patient services team. You will collect specimens, verify orders, and ensure accurate data entry and billing for each patient encounter.

Ideal candidates have strong phlebotomy skills across age groups, an ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, and flexibility to cover weekends and holidays when needed. This role requires adherence to MAKO policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Follows MAKO policies and safety guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, blood samples, pathology/cytology).
• Verify orders and data entry in lab systems or directory of services.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Data entry and processing of specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting and freezing as ordered.
• Work iLabs for assigned accounts daily for accurate billing data.
• Provide necessary CIR and PPE Resolution reporting to Director as required.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic info and initials post-venipuncture to ensure correct labeling.
• Assist with monthly statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and logs (temperature, maintenance).
• Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with phlebotomy techniques.
• Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site.
• Participate in special projects and teams.
• Stay up-to-date on company communications.
