Job summary

McLaren Health Care, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to manage the day-to-day operation of the Patient Service Center, including opening and closing the service center, registering patients, ordering tests, and collecting, handling, processing, and transporting specimens. Required: High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months phlebotomy experience.

Schedule is full-time with 8:00am-4:30pm shifts; on-call not required.

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs proper specimen collection (blood and non-blood) with patient preparation, labeling, handling, processing, transportation, and storage.
• Complies with standards for laboratory procedures and selects appropriate collection methods by age.
• Completes specimen handling, processing, and centrifuging; prepares aliquots.
• Collects and verifies patient registration data and test orders in the hospital/ laboratory information systems.
• Obtains consent for treatment and presents ABN for any non-coverage outpatient services.
