Qualifications

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy collection including venipuncture and capillary puncture; arterial puncture when applicable.
• Prepare and collect throat culture, urine, and other specimens as requested.
• Perform waived testing for immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology as applicable.
• Document patient specimen flow in the LIS accurately.
• Prepare specimens for dispatch to external labs as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety standards.
• Assist with new employee orientation and training.
• Perform other duties as requested.
