Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
• Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:
• Phlebotomy training and experience in an outpatient or hospital setting
• Prior experience in hospital laboratory receiving area
• Prior experience with the Laboratory Information System

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and collect specimens following SOPs with 100% accuracy
• Perform venipuncture and capillary sampling per protocol
• Enter demographics, orders, and billing info into EMR/LIS accurately
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and comply with HIPAA and safety policies
• Provide courteous, professional communication with patients and staff
• Handle specimens and labeling with attention to chain of custody and timing
