Job summary

SouthCoast Health seeks an experienced Phlebotomist for our Chatham Center location. You will perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, specimen labeling, and assist with laboratory testing according to CLIA and OSHA guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 6 months of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and current BLS/CPR certification; ASCP certification is preferred. You will work in a patient-centered environment with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational phlebotomy training preferred.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of OSHA and CLIA requirements.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and proper lab equipment use.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and accurate specimen labeling.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures; identify and label specimens.
• Conduct laboratory tests on specimens and maintain logs.
• Follow OSHA/CLIA standards and billing procedures.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, and coworkers professionally.
• Maintain quality control and proficiency testing.
