Job summary

SouthCoast Health is seeking an experienced phlebotomist for our Chatham Center location. The role involves performing venipuncture and capillary collections, labeling specimens, and conducting laboratory tests in a patient-centered environment.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of phlebotomy experience, and current BLS/CPR certification. OSHA/CLIA knowledge and ability to follow safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Prefer Associate Degree or Vocational School program for phlebotomy.
• Prefer licensure, registry or certification (ASCP or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Creates a caring and healing environment for patients and families.
• Engages patients and caregivers to meet care needs in a respectful manner.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and coworkers professionally.
• Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures; identifies and labels specimens.
• Maintains patient logs with date, name, accession number, tests, and tests performed.
