Job summary

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is seeking a Clinical Lab Associate 1 (Phlebotomist) to perform phlebotomy, order entry, central processing, EKGs, and basic lab testing in the Lab Service Center. This 100% onsite role is based in Harvey, IL and requires readiness to work in a dynamic, academic healthcare environment.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, complete an accredited phlebotomy program, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed accredited phlebotomy course or program.
• AHA CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and blood specimen collection.
• Processes human specimens for testing with proper order entry and routing.
• Interacts with patients, answers inquiries, and ensures high-quality customer service.
• Operates and gains competency with HIS/LIS and hospital billing systems.
• Will learn to run lab testing as competency grows.
• Supports with DOTs and BATs as needed.
