Job summary

University of Toledo seeks a Lab Tech I to greet patients and perform phlebotomy for lab testing. You will register and login specimens, prepare them for send-out, and assist in processing samples for inpatient and outpatient care.

Under supervision, you’ll answer phones, log and route specimens, and ensure accurate distribution to clinical departments. The role requires attention to detail and reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy internship or relevant certification(s) listed.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license is required.
• Clean FBI/BCI Check by end of probation and annually.
• Must have effective communication skills and physical fitness to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and performs phlebotomy for laboratory testing.
• Registers and logs in specimens; aliquots as directed.
• Answers phones, takes messages and transfers calls.
• Sorts and distributes specimens to appropriate clinical departments.
