Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform phlebotomy and related technical tasks in the Laboratory on an on-site campus. The role involves handling blood, tissue, urine and other body fluids, with emphasis on safety and patient care. Shift: Evening; scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, LIS tasks, and training new staff while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory policies across the lab environment.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and specimen processing experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient with laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer tasks.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Active driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• 70% Phlebotomy and/or specimen processing; adhere to safety and infection control practices.
• 15% Associated computer tasks (LIS, e-Source).
• 5% Training new employees and students.
• 5% Regulatory compliance with CAP, OSHA, JCAHO, CMS, and laboratory policies.
• 5% Maintaining competencies and mandatory education.
