Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, preparation, and labeling with accuracy and in compliance with infection-control standards.

The role includes entering patient data into the hospital information system, assisting in waived tests, and supporting quality control and training. This position requires a high school diploma and prefers certified phlebotomy credentials, with weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified phlebotomy technician preferred.
• Experience drawing blood or phlebotomy training in approved program preferred.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection (blood and non-blood) with proper patient preparation and labeling.
• Registers and processes patient data and test orders into hospital/LIS with ABN compliance.
• Maintains safe, clean work environment and adheres to infection-control policies.
• Performs waived tests and assists in other testing platforms under supervision.
• Trains new staff and ensures regulatory compliance.
