Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist/Processor in Newport News, VA. The role performs routine blood collections, processes specimens, and ensures patient safety and proper documentation in a QA/QI environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing experience preferred.
• PBT or CPT certifications preferred upon hire.
• Must follow CAP, DNV, OSHA and CLIA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to meet patient needs.
• Maintain a safe environment by following RHS policies and regulatory requirements.
• Register patients and order tests as requested by physicians.
• Perform blood collections and process specimens accurately for analysis.
• Ensure QA/QI compliance and proper documentation.
• Support training of new staff and students.
