Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Clinical Lab Support Rep to join the Phlebotomy team within the Laboratory Department. You will perform patient services, clerical duties, specimen handling, and scheduling, under supervision.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related clinical experience; the schedule is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with weekends, and the pay range is $20.91–$40.82 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related experience in an accredited clinical setting required.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens by centrifugation, aliquot and sort into test areas and for storage.
• Greet patients and parents, check patient into scheduling system and update records.
• Answer inquiries and route questions; verify insurance eligibility and coverage.
• Enter patient information, test requests and results into the LIS; manage patient registration in systems.
• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods.
• Maintain daily records and order routine inventory and supplies.
