Job summary

Children's National Hospital's Phlebotomy team is seeking a Clinical Lab Support Rep to assist with specimen collection and patient services across outpatient and inpatient settings. The role involves greeting parents, registering patients, verifying insurance, and coordinating with laboratory sections to ensure timely and accurate specimen handling, with on-site hours 8am-4:30pm and occasional weekends.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience in an accredited clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and coordinate pickup for laboratory areas.
• Greet and register patients, verify insurance and collect demographics.
• Answer inquiries, provide test results by phone, and relay questions to the appropriate area.
• Enter orders in LIS, check requisitions, and print reports.
• Train employees and others in duties described in the job description.
• Schedule patients in the computer system.
