Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a motivated phlebotomy technician to join our fast-paced, community-focused Laboratory team in Oklahoma City. You will perform venipuncture and capillary punctures, process specimens, and ensure proper handling for testing and referral to reference labs.

You will support specimen requirements, maintain safety standards, and assist with waived testing and automation awareness to improve throughput.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood tests and knows all safety requirements.
• Receives and distributes specimens in the laboratory.
• Processes specimens for testing, storage and send out to reference laboratories.
• Demonstrates knowledge of specimen requirements and limitation of testing procedures.
• Performs waived testing as required.
• Demonstrates knowledge about the functionality of the Lab's automation line.
• Acts as a resource for laboratory information.
• Timeliness of specimen collections and contamination.
