Norman Regional in Norman, OK is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to join our high-volume Laboratory Outreach Service Centers. You will perform blood collection, handle specimen processing, respond to patient inquiries, and ensure compliance with Medicare and insurance requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic medical terminology knowledge, and 3 months of customer service or phlebotomy experience, with a 32-hour clinical rotation for certification.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Computers and word processing skills needed.

Responsabilidades

• Performs admission interview process at Laboratory Outreach Service Centers or uses information provided by outreach clients at specimen collection or pickup.
• Ensures that all Medicare, insurance and managed care requirements are met prior to the registration process.
• Responds to inquiries regarding patients.
• Obtains blood specimens (on or off site) following established procedures, time frames, and safety requirements.
• Obtains specimens requiring special collection procedures following established procedures, time frames, and safety requirements.
• Performs diagnostic electrocardiogram on outpatients and Therapeutic INR QC and testing procedures.
• Urine collection and processing.
• Specimen collections other than blood or urine.
• Assists in the laboratory area.
• Acts as a resource for Laboratory information.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and Medicare requirements.
• Order and maintain supplies at PAR level.
• Various Laboratory Requirements
• Proper Phone Etiquette.
