Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a certified Phlebotomy Program.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Strong organization/time management skills.
• Excellent customer service behavior.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Screen specimens for acceptability per guidelines.
• Deliver blood products and surgical specimens as needed.
• Process, distribute or package specimens.
• Handle inquiries for lab results and specimen status.
• Communicate professionally with patients and staff.
• Adhere to hospital and department policies.
• Participate in Quality Improvement and other duties as assigned.
