Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from an accredited Phlebotomy Program.
• One year of phlebotomy experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture or capillary methods as requested.
• Screen and accept specimens per established guidelines.
• Deliver blood products and surgical specimens to appropriate departments.
• Process and package specimens (excluding Anatomic Pathology).
• Answer inquiries about lab results and specimen status.
