Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Arlington, MA seeks a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary punctures, process specimens, and route them for analysis. The role includes clerical duties in the EPIC EHR, and potential work at off-site locations.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year phlebotomy experience, is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification program with externship preferred but not required.
• ASCP Board of Registry certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Centrifuge blood and prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy testing, rapid strep testing, and collect specimens.
• Perform daily quality control of laboratory testing per SOP and guidelines.
• Support ECG, spirometry, vision/hearing testing, and glucose monitoring as site needs.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping, hazardous waste handling, and inventory.
