Job summary

Optum's Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston area is seeking qualified candidates for the Patient Services Technician role at levels I and II. This position supports patient care under licensed supervision and offers opportunities to grow within a nationally recognized healthcare organization.

Typical duties include performing venipunctures, CLIA waived tests, maintaining accurate lab records, and following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association; must obtain within 30 days of hires.
No experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 1 year of directly related experience as a phlebotomist.
Able to use related equipment.
Experience with computers and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and other collection services as ordered by the provider.
Perform CLIA waived testing (urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick glucose, etc.) as described in procedure.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and make available for inspections/audits by Lab Supervisor, Lab Director, Lab Consultant and CLIA Surveyors.
Perform quality controls; participate in proficiency testing; maintain lab instruments per manufacturer recommendations; follow safety guidelines.
