Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, seeks qualified Patient Service Technicians at varying levels (I, II) to perform phlebotomy and specimen collection under supervision of licensed professionals. Pay ranges reflect full-time status and local labor markets.

Roles include pediatric and adult venipuncture, CLIA waived testing, and maintaining accurate records. Training and development are provided as you advance within the clinic system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association; must obtain within 30 days of hires.
• No experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 1 year of directly related phlebotomist experience.
• Able to use related equipment.
• Experience with computers and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks and other collection services as ordered by the provider.
• Perform CLIA waived testing (e.g., urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick glucose, rapid tests) per lab procedures.
• Maintain accurate lab records and make available for inspections/audits by Lab personnel and CLIA surveyors.
• Perform quality controls and participate in proficiency testing as required.
