Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks a Patient Service Technician at multiple levels. The role supports patient care under licensed professionals, performing phlebotomy, basic lab tests, and related duties in a busy clinic setting.

Requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and the ability to operate lab equipment; no prior experience required if completing a phlebotomy program. Hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $29.00, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association; must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• No experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 1 year of related phlebotomy experience.
• Able to use related equipment.
• Experience with computers and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and other collection services.
• Perform CLIA waived testing as described in the lab procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records for inspections/audits.
• Maintain lab instruments and follow safety guidelines.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Phlebotomy program or 1 year phlebotomy experience

Proficient with computers and Windows-based software

Ability to operate related equipment
