Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of Optum, seeks a phlebotomy professional to perform venipunctures, CLIA waived tests, and patient specimen handling across multiple locations in Houston. You will maintain precise records, support quality controls, and ensure instrument care under supervision.

Strong customer service and English proficiency required. Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience; EPIC and MS Office skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• 2+ years of experience if Phlebotomy program completed OR 3 years related phlebotomy experience with waived testing.
• Must complete KSC review/skill validation within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with computers and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks and other collection services as ordered by the provider.
• Perform CLIA waived testing (urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick glucose, etc.) with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records for inspections and audits.
• Perform quality controls and participate in proficiency testing.
• Maintain lab instruments per manufacturer recommendations and safety guidelines.
