Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston is seeking a Patient Service Technician to perform venipunctures, finger sticks and CLIA-waived testing under supervision, with emphasis on accuracy and safety. You will maintain records, participate in quality controls and handle laboratory procedures per manual.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, is able to obtain BLS within 30 days, and demonstrates strong customer service and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• 3 years phlebotomy or 2+ years with accredited program and waived testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures and other collection services as ordered.
• Perform CLIA waived testing with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare for inspections.
• Perform quality controls and participate in proficiency testing.
• Maintain lab instruments and follow safety guidelines.
