Job summary

Conway Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to support pre-analytical processing and phlebotomy in the clinical laboratory. Duties include labeling, processing specimens, and ensuring proper registration and requisitions for testing.

The role involves assisting with send-out testing, supply management, phone coverage, and sample distribution. After training, waived testing may be performed; other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service excellence.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling experience preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy or CLIA-compliant lab assistant status is desirable.
• Current enrollment in a biology-related BS program may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy collections and label/process patient specimens.
• Assist with pre-analytical processing and registration for testing.
• Facilitate send-out testing and requisition filing; manage supplies.
• Answer phones and help with sample labeling and distribution.
• May perform waived testing after training; perform other duties as assigned.
