Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in biological science or related field; or high school diploma with phlebotomy certification.
  • Familiarity with LIS and laboratory terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming laboratory samples with proper labeling and documentation.
  • Enter patient information, test requests, and results into LIS accurately.
  • Prepare samples for testing, including labeling and handling of specimens.
  • Assist in phlebotomy procedures as needed and maintain competency.
  • Maintain work area and supply inventory.
  • Support in resolving sample or test-related inquiries from staff and providers.
  • Cover inpatient phlebotomy when certified and competency is current.
