Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a phlebotomist to support patient registration, sample collection, and specimen processing in a hospital setting. You will work with HIS/LIS to release orders and ensure accurate patient data entry, specimen labeling, and transport to the laboratory.

The role requires phlebotomy skills, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to interact clearly with patients. Prior coursework or certification is preferred, with opportunities for training and advancement available

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy course or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proficient with HIS/LIS to release orders or register patients.
• Perform patient registration and data entry to support sample processing.
• Collect and label specimens using approved procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy on patients and ensure specimen integrity.
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies at all times.
• Assist with inventory, training, and teamwork as directed.
