Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician to join the M Health Fairview Clinic team in Edina. This 1.0 FTE role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection, and LIS/HIS data entry across multiple clinic sites with a focus on safe, accurate patient care.

Responsibilities include obtaining specimens, performing tests, and providing timely results by phone or LIS/HIS. Candidates should have a phlebotomy program, relevant clinical exposure, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program.
• Three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience or enrollment in MLT/MLS.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proven customer service experience in diverse settings.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and competency in blood collection.
• Basic Life Support certification within 90 days when working in clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain biological specimens following SOPs.
• Perform phlebotomy at multiple sites.
• Enter orders and collection data into LIS/HIS accurately.
• Provide results and communicate with patients and staff.
• Maintain safety and infection control practices.
• Monitor inventory and assist with equipment maintenance.
