Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician (LCT) for the Acute Care Laboratory at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank. This full-time evening shift role runs Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 11:00pm, with 3 out of 6 weekends and occasional holidays.

The LCT will collect specimens, enter orders in LIS/HIS, and support quality assurance in a fast-paced lab. Ideal candidates will have phlebotomy training or clinical experience, strong customer

Qualifications

• High School graduate or higher.
• Diploma, GED, equivalency or transcript must be provided.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program.
• Completion of three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience or enrollment in MLT/MLS with phlebotomy course.

Responsibilities

• Follows SOPs to obtain biological specimens and perform procedures.
• Collects specimens with proper technique following SOPs.
• Performs phlebotomy at various sites.
• Uses effective communication with patients and families.
• Demonstrates proficiency with point-of-care/waived testing.
• Schedules tests/procedures and reports results in LIS/HIS.
• Maintains safety, QA, infection control and supports team.
