Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Associate to join the patient care team. The role covers all aspects of specimen collection, including registration, order entry, processing, packaging and transport of specimens with robust adherence to quality controls.

Phlebotomy will be performed across neonatal to geriatric patients, and you will be responsible for supply inventory and coordinating with the lab to ensure accurate results. Weekend and holiday rotation is required as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of approved phlebotomy program required.
• Completion of Phlebotomy Internship preferred.
• 1 Year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes processing and transport of routine and stat specimens.
• Ensures integrity of all laboratory specimens per guidelines.
• Performs specimen collection accurately and timely.
• Identifies patient/specimen using established policies.
• Performs order entry and patient registration according to policies.
• Maintains accurate records and temperature logs.
• Monitors supply inventory and keeps area organized.
