Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to collect and process specimens, assist with patient registration, and support the lab team. The role requires proficiency in venipuncture, specimen handling, and adherence to procedures to ensure accurate test results.

The position supports lab operations under supervision, with duties spanning specimen collection, documentation, and coordination with referring labs.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, Paramedic or EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, or heel sticks as required.
• Register orders and enter data into the laboratory information system.
• Maintain specimen integrity and ensure proper documentation.
