Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen labeling, data entry, and maintaining accurate records. Team collaboration and adherence to safety policies are essential for patient care and workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of specimen collection and testing requirements.
• Proficient in venipunctures and finger sticks across age groups.
• Follow established procedures for patient ID and specimen collection orders.
• Complete specimen collection documentation accurately.
• Educate patient/family on collection procedures before obtaining specimens.
• Use computer information system for job functions.
• Perform clerical duties (faxing, phones, courier systems).
• Manage priorities and plan tasks to meet deadlines.
• Review OSR and pending collection issues and take action.
• Receive specimens into LIS and perform registration and order entry.
