Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital seeks a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform specimen collection and handling under supervision, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, Paramedic or EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and assist with processing under supervision.
• Submit and monitor specimens to referral laboratories and patient registration.
• Follow procedures to ensure specimen integrity and testing accuracy.
• Perform clerical duties (faxing, phones, courier coordination).
• Maintain records and assist with quality assurance and safety.
