Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Southside Medical Center Laboratory. The role involves drawing patient blood, preparing specimens for testing, and handling related clerical tasks to keep the lab efficient.

Responsibilities include patient identification, specimen processing, data entry, and phone support. Requires at least a high school diploma; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required, with travel to off-site locations anticipated.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Identify patients accurately and match to the correct service.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test orders.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks, stock supplies, and phone duties.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
