Job summary

Beacon Health System's Elkhart General Hospital is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant for daytime coverage in the Laboratory. You will perform phlebotomy, accessioning, specimen processing, and basic clerical tasks to support testing and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; math and biological sciences coursework preferred.
• Phlebotomy training program completed preferred; prior phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Experience in patient care, customer service, or a related role in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accession laboratory test requests and verify orders for accuracy.
• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections per protocol.
• Process specimens and route to appropriate lab sections.
• Operate the laboratory information system for draw lists, labels, and reports.
• Support clerical duties and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Communicate specimen status and delays to care team and physicians.
• Ensure QA/QC standards and OSHA guidelines are followed.
