Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest laboratory, offering comprehensive benefits and a schedule that includes holidays and potential shifts. The Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist role supports patient care, with opportunities for apprenticeship based on experience.

Regular attendance and a professional demeanor are essential for success in this hourly position. Candidates with HS diploma or equivalent, and preferred CLA program or ASCP certification, will be considered.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant program.
• Immunization against Hepatitis B or waiver; provide documentation of a PPD test (within 90 days) or done through TriCore.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and new staff as needed.
• Exhibit basic problem solving skills to ensure exceptional customer and patient care service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communication responsibilities, including on-call duties by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Participate in and maintain on-call coverage and holiday/evening/weekend rotations.
• Basic PC skills are required.
