Job summary

PeaceHealth seeks a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team as a Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Day position in Washington. The role supports specimen collection, labeling, processing, and results reporting within the laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, data entry, LIS use, and patient interaction to ensure accurate testing and quality care. Candidates should have a HS diploma and prefer prior lab experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to interact with patients and health care professionals calmly under stress.
• Ability to use electronic LIS and follow established policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items per health and safety regulations and lab policies.
• Collect and label specimens; process and document as required.
• Enter patient demographics and tests; handle all paperwork and submissions.
• Receive and route specimens; communicate with clients about requirements and results.
• Perform waived testing as assigned and recognize abnormal results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
