Job summary

PeaceHealth invites applications for a Part Time Lab Assistant – Inpatient Phlebotomy. The 0.80 FTE role supports phlebotomy services, specimen collection and LIS operations in a hospital setting, with day shifts.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, data entry, and communicating specimen requirements to patients and staff. Six months phlebotomy experience or training is preferred, with strong patient interaction skills expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items per lab policies to ensure specimen integrity.
• Collect and label specimens for testing; document accordingly.
• Data entry of patient demographics and tests; process and submit specimens.
• Receive, handle, sort, and package specimens.
• Answer client questions regarding specimen requirements and results.
• Perform waived testing as assigned; follow SOPs.
• Other duties as assigned.
