Job summary

Prevea Health is looking for a Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist to support laboratory operations. The role includes performing phlebotomy on patients, maintaining equipment, processing specimens, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

The position reports to the lab leadership and requires strong patient communication. Responsibilities include checking in patients, processing test orders in Epic/LIS, instructing on specimen collection, preparing equipment, stocking supplies, and handling calls

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy and specimen handling experience preferred.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on adults, neonates, and children.
• Check-in patients and verify information while processing orders in Epic/LIS.
• Instruct patients on urine, stool, and other specimen collection requirements.
• Prepare equipment, stock supplies, and maintain lab areas.
• Answer phones, log entries, and manage laboratory records.
