Singing River Health System is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Apprentice as part of its Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship. The program spans 12 months of academics, clinical training, mentoring, and confidence building.

During the apprenticeship, you will perform venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and other specimen collections, while ensuring correct patient identification and proper labeling. Travel to SRHS facilities is required as part of the role.

Qualifikationen

• High School graduate or equivalent; some health/science college coursework preferred.
• Six-month phlebotomy certification requirement after program completion from ASCP, APA, AMT, or NHA.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Must be able to travel to SRHS facilities within the service area.

Aufgaben

• Perform venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and other specimen collections.
• Ensure specimens collected from the correct patients and labeled accurately.
• Carry out clerical duties and process orders in the clinical laboratory.
• Transcribe doctors’ orders and communicate results to nurses and physicians.
