The Singing River Health System in Ocean Springs, MS is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Apprentice to join our 12-month apprenticeship program. You will perform venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and other specimen collections in outpatient and clinical settings, under supervision.

Qualified applicants have a High School diploma or equivalent, and may pursue phlebotomy certification within six months of training. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification within 6 months of training from approved agency (ASCP/APA/AMT/NHA).
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform venipunctures, heel and finger sticks for specimen collection.
• Ensure accurate patient identification and proper specimen labeling.
• Handle transportation and pre-test processing of specimens.
• Perform clerical duties and document results; communicate with nurses/doctors.
