Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, performing specimen collection and pre-analytical processing in a busy hospital laboratory. You will register and label tubes, centrifuge and aliquot specimens, and collaborate with medical technologists to resolve issues.

Education: High School Diploma required; ASCP-BOC certification preferred; 3–5 years hospital laboratory experience preferred.

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Verifies correct specimen and labeling requirements are met for test orders.
• Registers and labels tubes as appropriate.
• Centrifuges and aliquots specimens according to department policy.
• Sorts, stores, and delivers laboratory specimens by department and specimen requirements.
• Works with medical technologists to resolve specimen problems.
• Answers telephones and provides assistance as needed.
