Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Lab Technician with phlebotomy expertise to join our hospital-affiliated laboratory in Columbia, SC. The role requires venipuncture, capillary puncture, and point-of-care testing across diverse patient populations from neonates to adults.

You will assist the Lead Phlebotomist, manage specimens, and support administrative tasks while delivering reliable test results and maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and formal phlebotomy training.
• Experience in venipuncture/capillary collection across age groups is preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, QA/QC, and specimen handling is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture/capillary puncture for a wide age range; ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Perform waived and moderate complexity point of care testing; document QC.
• Assist Lead Phlebotomist with specimen procurement and processing.
• Manage reception, test accessioning, and reporting workflows.
