Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist Representative I - Hospital in Brick, NJ. This fast-paced hospital role involves performing venipuncture and collecting blood samples from patients of all ages in a hospital setting.

You will label, process, and route specimens per lab protocols while maintaining a clean, organized work area. The position requires strong phlebotomy skills, reliable transportation, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with rotational weekend duties.

Qualifications

• Proficient phlebotomy skills including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groups.
• Label and process specimens according to laboratory protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy carts and work areas.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training, such as Glucola.
• Data entry and processing specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test order.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures; ensure staff follow instructions.
• Observe infection control and safety protocols at all times.
• Complete training courses and keep up to date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
• Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and lab personnel.
• Rotate through inpatient, outpatient, physicians’ offices, and ED settings as scheduled.
• Assist with training new staff or students as needed.
