Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC seeks a Phlebotomist to join our Washington, DC team. You will perform blood draws, label specimens and ensure proper transport, with a focus on geriatric patients and accurate patient information.

The ideal candidate has certified phlebotomy credentials, at least 5 years of venipuncture experience in fast-paced labs or hospitals, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm, with a 3-month contract plus potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physician orders and match requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol to maintain integrity.
