LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, is seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to support patient care with a focus on accurate specimen collection and processing. The role involves performing venipunctures, handling specimens, and assisting in the laboratory workflow.

The position emphasizes adherence to policies, proficiency with lab computer tasks, and strong customer relations. On-call responsibilities may be required, with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Adheres to all established policies and procedures in the collection and/or processing of specimens.
• Demonstrates efficiency and proficiency in the collection, handling, and processing of specimens. Able to perform a minimum of 40 venipunctures per eight-hour shift.
• Demonstrates proficiency in all laboratory computer related tasks associated with processing and/or phlebotomy.
• Exhibits excellent customer relations in dealings with patients, visitors, physicians, hospital staff and coworkers.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates efficiency and proficiency in the collection, handling, and processing of specimens. Able to perform a minimum of 40 venipunctures per eight-hour shift.
• Demonstrates proficiency in all laboratory computer related tasks associated with processing and/or phlebotomy.
• Shares daily workload in the phlebotomy/processing section including outpatient areas and reception/greeting tasks.
• Prioritizes work to assure completion within the assigned shift and according to required TAT.
• Exhibits an understanding of how the processing/phlebotomy areas contribute to the overall functioning of the laboratory.
