Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare, a part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Phlebotomist for PRN shifts. You will perform venipuncture, collect urine and other specimens, and ensure proper labeling and handling according to policy.

The role supports the lab in delivering timely patient care at our 141-bed acute care facility in Virginia. Applicants should have a high school diploma; phlebotomy certification is preferred and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred; BLS required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexibility for PRN/part-time schedules.

Responsibilities

• Review providers' orders and quick-register patients with requisitions.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers prior to collection.
• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick.
• Label specimens with two identifiers plus date/time and initials.
• Coordinate drug-monitoring collections with nursing staff.
• Process specimens to appropriate lab departments per policy.
• Maintain supplies and assist with weekly inventories.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and education.
