Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge, TN, is seeking a Phlebotomist PRN to join our laboratory team. The Phlebotomist performs blood collection procedures, receives and processes specimens, answers department phones, and maintains inventory and supplies.

When serving as Laboratory Assistant, you coordinate collections among Phlebotomists and prepare samples for testing, including reference lab testing. Education: High School or GED; formal phlebotomy training preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED required; formal phlebotomy training preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: None
• Experience: One-year hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood collection procedures within areas of competency. Receives and processes laboratory specimens, answers department phone, inventory and receives supplies.
• When acting as the Laboratory Assistant, in addition to Phlebotomist duties, coordinates collections among Phlebotomists. Prepare and process samples for testing and reference lab testing.
