Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center – Lab is seeking a Phlebotomist II to support day shift with PRN/as-needed coverage. You will receive orders, collect blood from patients of all ages, and prepare specimens for processing, ensuring accurate labeling and timely submission.

This on-site role emphasizes high-quality venipuncture, capillary draws, proper patient identification, and adherence to quality control standards. Prior phlebotomy training and ASCP or equivalent licensure are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal training program in Phlebotomy.
• Completion of departmental clinical evaluation checklist.

Responsibilities

• Venipuncture to collect high-quality specimens.
• Perform capillary blood draws as needed.
• Label specimens correctly and maintain chain-of-custody.
• Ensure specimens are collected within established turnaround times.
• Maintain clean, stocked phlebotomy area and follow regulations.
