Responsibilities

• Performs blood draws by venipuncture following standard protocol and ensures patient safety.
• Performs specimen collection using appropriate techniques and provides patient/caregiver instructions.
• Labels tubes accurately and matches samples to patient identifiers.
• Enters orders in HIS and LIS and handles outside orders as needed.
• Provides data entry and documentation in accordance with policies.
• Maintains supplies and supports nursing staff when requested.
• Adheres to pre-analytical variables affecting test results and quality control.
